Record the writing process behind a LaTeX manuscript while the author works.
The finished manuscript contains no writing history.
A paper developed over several days can end up looking much like one assembled from a handful of large pastes. By the time a text detector sees the PDF, the history has gone.
WriteTrack records that history inside Overleaf while the author works. The planned extension will bring the SDK's client-side capture and behavioural analysis into Overleaf's editor.
How the pilot would work
Run the analysis
Analyse the session in the browser and produce the same report as the WriteTrack SDK.
Export the report
Send the summary and session timeline with the manuscript.
What reviewers can see
- Typed, pasted, dictated, and autocompleted proportions
- The size and timing of paste events, plus later edits
- Active composition time, pauses, and tab-away periods
- Corrections, cursor movement, and the revision sequence
- Mechanically regular or physically implausible input patterns
Integration status
Test WriteTrack in a real Overleaf review.
The extension is in development. We are looking for publishers, conferences and institutions willing to test it with real submissions and reviewers.
